End of 2010 is Coming!

First off, sorry for not updating in like 2 weeks! Life around the holidays is CRAZY, as I am sure you all know. Let me just catch you up speedy quick on the past two weeks... I now hold the position as Community Outreach for my FCA club on campus. The goal is to get out into the community more with volunteer work as well as spreading God's word while we serve for Him!  I'm really excited about it all.  Finals went better than planned, much better then planned. Grades come out January 3rd- so hopefully all the hard work paid off! I'm home in Redlands until January 20th and since being home I've just been hanging out with my family and old friends and working at MyGym again to keep myself busy while I am here.  We had our annual sugarpalooza when I got home, and I will post a picture of that for everyone to see- this year my team made Santa's getaway island. :)  Christmas came and went quicker then I could process it, but the day was wonderful. Considering I didn't ask for anything I got everything I wanted and then some, so it was good. I was just happy being with my family and surrounded by those who love me.  New years is coming up and boy did this year go by SO FAST! I feel like it was a fast year, but it could have been because I've been keeping myself busy busy busy!  Recap of the year...I'll go by months. (if i can remember everything I did- so much!)

JANUARY- New year! My New Year's resolution for 2010 was to become closer with my walk with God. I feel like I did a pretty good job on that. :] Much better then I would have done on ANY diet or workout plan like everyone else. :) Started my second half of my second year of college in January 2010...crazy how time flies!
New Years!

FEBRUARY-  Just a normal month in the life of a college student, classes and work! Although we did have our school's homecoming dance this month, and I got puked on! Gross- but the worst part...this isn't the first time it's happened to me! YUCK.
I still continue to volunteer at the aquarium as an overnight camp councilor- which is a blast might I add. :]

MARCH- Spent every weekend at the baseball field this month cheering on the boys! The family had to put spooky- our family kitty- down in March because he got too sick. R.I.P Spooky, we miss you everyday.

APRIL- Came home for a weekend this month to help Mom with her annual Monopoly tournament and celebrate Easter with the family.  <3 Sometimes a break from school- even for a weekend is paradise.

MAY-  My intramural bowling team took first place! School ended for the summer break...made the Dean's list grade wise this semester- forcing Mom and Dad to pay 75% of my tuition for the fall semester. :)
Went to a Laker's game- but before heading to staples center we ate at Luke Walton's BBQ restaurant, and then stalked his house. :p  Proof....I am standing in front of Luke Walton's house in the picture below.... IT WAS AWESOME.

JUNE- Started working at MyGym again for the summer (missed it SO much!) Went to Spirit West Coast in San Diego-AMAZING music festival! John Cooper- who happens to be the lead singer of one of my favorite bands gave us his autograph. And I fell in love with 10thAveN during this festival. LAKERS WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP! :)
- This month was difficult in the sense I found out people are going to leave you when you chose to become real with you walk with God. It was so hard to lose one of my best friends over the fact that I'm choosing a better lifestyle for myself- but in the end, if she doesn't want a better me then she doesn't need me at all I guess.  LIFE LESSONS are hard to learn!!

AUGUST-  My parents rent a beach house for a week in San Diego for the summer, so my final week of vacation was spent relaxing in the sand. :)

SEPTEMBER- Fall semester started- meaning the hectic lifestyle started again! Moved into my awesome apartment with one of my best friends LAUREN (below). I love it! 2 bedroom, 1 bath, living room and kitchen, and on campus! It's perfect and pretty, wish I could live there next year too but we are getting kicked into a house because next year we will be SENIORS.

First week in our new place!

OCTOBER- Probably my favorite month this year. I was BAPTIZED! My older cousin got married! And my brother and his fiance asked me to be a bridesmaid in their wedding. :]] And we can't forget about Halloween...which got celebrated 4 times this year, yes 4. All with different costumes. I was an M&M, Snookie, a sailor, and finally a 6 year old complete with footie pajamas.
-I did break things off with my boyfriend of the time, BUT we are still close friends and it was for the better.  When one door closes another is opened.
October is the month I also started going on some dates with a new amazing guy who I continue to still go on dates with (I guess watch the blog for updates on that)  ;)

DECEMBER-  End of the year when everything starts to calm down and come to an end.  Wrapping up finals Lauren and I held a Girl's night to make gingerbread houses- that backfired on us when the boys got jealous and tagged Lauren's car! Once home-we had suaglarpalooza, and of coarse our team won. :) Spent a night with an old, old high school friend who I rarely get to see now days. Got to spend a day in the mountains snowboarding with Dad. :) Fall semester ended and now I am on winter break waiting for my crazy lifestyle to pick back up when I head back to Monterey.  What a great year!!

From fast lane to 90 year old grandpa driving

Well, the 5th semester of my college career is DONE. And I gotta say, it feels good...but I am going stir crazy with all the free time I have had in the past few days. Sleeping in past 8am is throwing off my scheduling.  Which I guess is good, I've been trying to spend the time relaxing and now worrying about much. Spending more time getting to know my Bible and trying to catch my body up with some good old fashion R&R.  I feel like I finished the semester strong and hopefully my grades will reflect it well and all will be dandy.  I was however, super excited that my finals we not as stressful as I was expecting them to be. I really just tried to take it a day at a time and not worry too far in advance and take care of one thing at a time and I feel that really worked for me. Or at least I hope it does when my grades come out in January.  Keep your fingers crossed! :)
Aside from the semester being over, I've just been working and relaxing before getting ready to come home. For all you Redlands people I will be back in town Friday afternoon. :)  Sarah and Jake come into Monterey Thursday night and the three off us take off for home Friday morning. Can't wait! I haven't seen Sarah in 6 months and our skype dates do not serve our conversations much justice. And as for Jake- I can't wait to hear all his crazy freshman in college stories. Should be a good time, I missed them!

I have something to gloat about, not about me at all but about my little baby brother. If you don't know, he's an amazing soccer player and has a great love for the sport. This week I found him on "max preps" and looked at his stats, NUMBER ONE in the nation! He is amazing! 2 games and 10 goals! I'll post the article at the end of this post for all to see, but I just love watching him improve! Can't wait to watch him kick some butt over the break when I get to see some of his games! Good thing I taught him everything he knows ;) .... I wish.... hehe

Home soon....I'm feeling bittersweet.   I'm excited beyond believes to be able to spend time with my family, and being able to re-connect with my friends from high school and I'm going to work a little but at My Gym again, and I am really looking foreword to not having class and loads of work or stress to worry about. However, I really miss my God community when I am away from Monterey.  I have a church I go to when I am in Redlands, but it doesn't feel like a "home church" and some of my friends don't believe which is fine, but I do miss the environment. But what doesn't kill me makes me strong, an these 5 weeks at home could help me grow one on one with my relationship with God and then I will come back an even better Christan. :)

Well, I am going out with my roommate for a little bonding before we part for some time. Redlands-I will see you soon, and Monterey- be good while I am gone.
XOXOXO

FINALS WEEK!

You know how I can tell it's finals week? There is three ways to tell- ONE: I've been to the gym 3 times in the past week.  TWO: The library has become another home.  THREE: I've been getting sick, and I always get sick around finals.  This semester hasn't been tooooo bad with finals, I've been able to deal with it to a point, I think I am just so over this semester that I'm at an "I really don't care right now" stage.  There is no motivation to want to do my best, and I feel like the minimal requirements of my assignments is what is going to get me through this week. Luckily- Almost all my classes have their finals this week, when really they are supposed to be next week. So I'm getting all (but one test next Monday) out of the way. Then I can just frolic around, relax, and work during the week of 'finals'.  Currently- I am in the library, and I do have my final paper open on my computer, but I'm stuck with a direction to go and my professor has not e mailed me back yet. So I have no idea which way to go from here and I'm just stuck like a sitting duck right now. Which I guess is okay because it makes me have to calm down and breath for a minute but at the same time, I really just want to get this paper done so I can sit and breath all next week.
On a happier note!- My little baby brother came into town this past weekend! He came up for a soccer recruitment camp our school was hosting and stayed with me for the weekend, which was fun. I loved having him up and he seems so adult-like with the questions he was asking about college and they way he was acting while he was on campus. Where is this maturity level when I'm home?! I'm excited he is getting excited about college. I wonder what weird hobbies my parents will pick up when they have no children to watch over next year.  I see house remodels being done, boredom hitting them, and lots of baking from my Mom.
Well, I guess I should find something, anything to do to be productive and get busy work out of the way so when I do know what direction I'm going in with this paper then I can just go for it. I hope everyone survives finals week and we all make it home to our families not tooooo stressed out for the holidays!
XOXOXO
